he was very young. The boy received little schooling. His

Richtung in der Landschaftsmalerei, welche nicht die Gegenstände
selbst, sondern den Eindruck darstellen will, den sie unter
gewissen Lichtverhältnissen machten, deshalb ist der Engländer
Turner der wahre Vorläufer der Impressionisten und das nahezu
zwei Generationen vor den Franzosen.
